OMG Burger and Brew in Long Valley

Burgers, beer and a great family friendly atmosphere!

I love going out to dinner.

Sure- maybe it's the fact that I don't have to do the prep, cooking or cleaning up, but I think the part I love most is getting out of our daily routine and trying something new. So, when a brand new, beautiful restaurant opens in my hometown- - -  woohoo! This is big news that makes me extra excited!

OMG Burger and Brew opened on Schooley's Mountain in Long Valley a little over a month ago, and my family and I were invited to try it out in early December for dinner. The wait times to be seated were rumored to be long during dinner service since the buzz was strong around this long awaited restaurant. To our surprise and happiness, we were seated in only 15 minutes (we were told 35 min) on a Friday night around 6pm.

The building itself is beautiful and reminiscent of a pole barn, complete with post and beam design, board and batten exterior and a loft. There is a large bar downstairs and a smaller bar in the upstairs area. The tables are spread out with plenty of walking room in between.

After being promptly seated, and served, we browsed OMG's awesome beer list (and ordered a personal favorite). OMG has a full bar available is definitely a great place to grab a drink with a friend on a weekend or for happy hour! Beer flights are available if your indecisive or if you'd like to try some new brews. The atmosphere is fun and loud, which is great for a night out and especially great when you have your kids in tow like we did!

We (or more like my 5 year old wing obsessed son) decided on chicken wings for our appetizer. I am pretty picky about my wings, and they were delicious! I made a comment to my husband about going back for a beer and wing date night the moment we tried them. The bavarian pretzel also seemed like an amazing appetizer choice for a crowd!

The kids menu is your typically kids fare, and both of my boys ordered a cheeseburger. My husband ordered the blue cheese burger and I was the odd one out and ordered a chicken sandwich. Our burgers came out cooked as we requested and delicious! My chicken sandwich was a bit heavy on the fried breading for my taste, so I would order it grilled the next time around. At the time of our visit, fries needed to be purchased as an extra side to a burger...but, the very next day, OMG Burger and Brew heard the opinions from diners that fries should be included, and now they are! We ordered our fries loaded (baked potato style- with scallions, bacon and cheese), and they were easily my favorite part about my entire meal! To finish up our meal, we ordered a oreo milkshake to share (because we were stuffed!), and it was thick and creamy (albeit a bit pricy at $11).

OMG Burger and Brew has already been requested as a restaurant choice for our next family dinner out, and we can't wait to go back!
