FREE You've been BOO'ed Printables

sponsored by The Ruggiero Group from Sotheby's

By Amanda - West Morris Macaroni Kid October 20, 2021

If you've never been BOO'ed before, you're going to LOVE this newish Halloween tradition.  This wasn't a "thing" when I was growing up, but now it is an absolute favorite for myself and my kiddos.  They actually get more excited about BOO-ing others than they do to receive the mysterious knock on the door that results in a bucket of goodies!

The concept is pretty simple - you put together a basket of treats (toys, candy, etc) and secretly leave them on the front steps of someone you know, think ding-dong-ditch with a twist.  The secret is to remain anonymous, so part of the fun is running away but still remaining in hiding close by so you can view the surprise on the faces of the kiddos you left treats for.  To be honest, my kids usually give themselves away by giggling, which in turn makes me giggle, thus making it fun for everyone!

You will need a set of printables to BOO properly, so with the help of The Ruggiero Group from Sotheby's, we've created  a set for you to use - they come complete with all the instructions!

TIPS:

  • Most everything you need can be found at your local dollar store - candy, small toys, coloring activities.  If you want to get fancy, we love giving a box of Halloween cereal, such as Count Chocula!  And, if you REALLY want to impress, head over to The Chocolate Shoppe for some truly unique and delicious Halloween treats!
  • It is totally OK to BOO during the day, for kiddos who go to bed early or might be afraid of lurking about in the dark, you just have to be fast and scope out a good hiding spot in advance!
  • BOO-ing doesn't have to be just for the kids - we fully support the "You've been BOOz'ed" movement which swaps the toys and candy for alcohol!
