You had me at Lavender Martini...
The Smashed Olive in Washington has only been open a few months, but we heard rave reviews right off the bat and had to check it out for ourselves! Now I'm an olive lover, like a serious one, so the name alone sold me -but then I saw the Lavender Martini on their menu and now I am a die-hard fan for life!
We did of course, try out the Lavender Martini as a starter and truly, it's a must-try. It was smooth, and relaxing. Not only a fabulous drink but just the aroma. You can't help but breathe a little deeper with this drink in front of you!
You'll be pleasantly surprised when your server drops off a complimentary flatbread and olive tapenade appetizer. It's SOOOOO good! I did mention I'm an olive lover right? So the complimentary appetizer just wasn't enough salted goodness for me, and I also ordered the Feta and Olive Dip which was outstanding. I honestly could have gone home very happy with these three items I'd consumed already, but being a professional and having to do a complete review, I continued on!
Because we went for lunch, and by this time I am not super hungry any longer, I opted to go for their Smashed Burger. I'm going to sound like a broken record here but... Yup, DELISH! Honestly, I'm a burger snob and these are really great burgers. I don't know where they purchase their meat but it's high quality and fresh. My lunch date had the Chicken, Apple and Brie sandwich which she said was equally outstanding.
All the menu items sounded amazing. They have several entrees, pizzas and sandwiches to choose from - I guess we'll just have to go back!
