Kids Connection is a program where all campers come together to gain confidence, self-worth, independence, and grow their self-esteem. The campers connect with each other and form meaningful relationships. Kids Connection is a social skills program for all kids. We incorporate social-emotional learning into fun interactive games and competitions. The program was developed by two behavior analysts with more than 20 years experience in education. The program targets expanding the emotional development and coping skills of each child. The campers work in teams in all activities and help each other to reach their goals. Kids Connection offers three different sessions through July and August. Session 1 is for middle school and high school students. In that session we focus on dealing with different social situations, expressing gratitude, and discussing complex emotions. Session 2 is for elementary students. The campers work in teams in different games and activities while establishing friendships. Our campers gain confidence by participating in new activities in a positive and supportive environment. Session 3 is open to all ages. The campers will be divided into age groups. This is a full day session. Some of the activities in Kids Connection include board games, card games, social-emotional lessons, journal writing, meditation, relay races, Lego activities, and group STEM projects. Peer models help support our new campers. Parents are given a daily email about the daily activities. Kids Connection is located at All Saints Academy in Parsippany, NJ.
